The Brief

A client was planning a major kitchen renovation but struggled to visualize the options. Traditional renderings were too expensive for the exploration phase, and mood boards weren't enough. They needed to see realistic representations of multiple layout and finish options before making any commitments.

The Process

Using AI visualization tools combined with traditional design knowledge, we generated a series of photorealistic kitchen concepts. Each version explored a different direction: one with dark cabinetry and brass hardware, another with all-white and natural wood, a third with bold color and open shelving. The AI renderings allowed us to iterate rapidly, testing ideas in hours rather than weeks.

This approach let the client react to realistic visuals early in the process, saving time and money while building confidence in the final direction. It represents the kind of work I'm most excited about, using emerging technology to enhance, not replace, the design process.

The Outcome

The client chose a direction within the first week, a record for a project of this scale. The AI concepts became the foundation for the final design package, which was then executed by a contractor with precise material specifications. The technology didn't replace the design eye, it amplified it.
