Gold Coast Living Room
The Brief
A longtime Gold Coast resident wanted to refresh their living room without losing the character of their pre-war brownstone. The existing space had beautiful bones, original moldings, and tall windows, but the furnishings felt heavy and disconnected. The client was drawn to mid-century modern pieces but wanted them to feel at home in a traditional setting.
The Process
We curated a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces, anchored by a custom sectional in a warm boucle fabric. A pair of leather lounge chairs added mid-century character without competing with the architectural details. The color palette stayed grounded in taupes, creams, and cognac, with texture doing the heavy lifting. Layered rugs, a sculptural floor lamp, and carefully edited art completed the space.
The Result
The living room now feels both collected and cohesive, as if the pieces have always lived together. The client said it finally feels like a room they actually want to spend time in, not just walk through. It honors the history of the building while feeling completely current.
